Click hereMy Love, I need you now
Desperately wanting you to see
White knuckles cling to this carnival ride
You’ve turned your back many times
Leaving me cold and alone
Slamming the door on the way out
This ride has spun out of control
My world a blur of confusion
Remember our Ferris wheel life
When it was your dream we followed
I’ve looked forward to this night
You chose the destination
From a distance it looked so fun
With a beautiful view from the top
I expected you to ride with me always
Not knowing the one at the controls
Is the same wolf in sheep’s clothing
I’ve lived with for five years today
Tonight your claws didn’t tear my soul
For our special date, I overlooked the wounds
Thinking we had our old days back
When I felt safe in the pleasure ground
Forgetting that your cloak changed weekly
I dressed up for this occasion
You said I looked beautiful over candlelight
Then another looked at me with admiring eyes
The monster crept out of hiding so quickly
Bearing sharp teeth and a wicked tongue
Chills ran up my spine and into every cell of my body
A deadly creature had been summoned
The security line is breaking
You hold the last single thread
Suddenly I’m falling; not like the time before
I see your face as I hurl through the air
You are satisfied; you cut the line
To be free from me forever
I crash to the ground; land by your side
With a note now buried in the sand
I’d written three words just yesterday
Inside a big red heart; forever, my love
You will never know it existed
My Love, you will never see
even all the excitements cant sustain the hope. TK U MLJ LV NV
This poem could have settled for a familiar arc, but I like the twist at the end; Well done.
