I enjoyed your story. The perspective from a stripper held my interest that carried forward to want to understand the trucker. Lil read through as a real character and not as the one dimensional characters that so many write. I could see her clearly. Your character was harder to envision, however.

A story, or two, of overcoming disability along with a great love story.. A story where the kids really like the suitor enough to conspire with him is always a very touching, enjoyable one.. I do indeed believe that all 4 kids understood what was going on with Henry and Lil.. They used their discreation to ignore it.. I thought Julie turning up again was a good twist.. It was sure hard for him to have any secrets, wasn't it?. I was wondering if Lil knew about the proposal before she was supposed to.. Really good read!!

The end turned out very much differently than I had expected from the beginning. But then, that's life--it generally doesn't wind up like we'd planned it. Your characters are realistic, and the plot took enough twists that it held my interest throughout. The likelihood of running into Lil's mom such a long distance away is fairly remote, but then, sometimes it's a small, small world. I really enjoyed your story.

DG Hear, you are an incredibly talented writer with the ability to make your characters believable and have your readers empathize with them! I thought you went a little puritan there when the kid said ass and was told to watch his language. Plus when Henry and Lil go to Ohio and sleep in seperate places....they aren't teenagers anymore! Then she sneaks over to Henry's and it has to be kept secret! Over the top in my opinion. Oh and by the way have you ever slept on a box spring? I doubt it...sleeping on the floor would be way more comfortable!

I hate being suckered into a story. DG is good writer and story started well. But then I could not figure out how one could develop any kind of relationship with seeing a waitress during working hours once a month. Then, when Julie was introduced as Lil's mother, the story tanked for me. Such totally improbable coincidence was just too stupid, and then I stopped reading.

DG Hear: you are a fantastic storyteller! I think I read this several years ago as it seemed to be familiar! The part where Julie came out in the restaurant was amazing and his help with Brad was really great. I have a niece with Downs Syndrome so helping with Brads confidence was amazing! Again thanks for another moving story!
