A sweet little story. It caught the times well.
Nicely done, Patricia.
You wrote this as a period piece so you need to stay in period. You cant have them driving up in a Valiant with an 8 track and then later having a charcter put on a sports bra that did not exist.
If you are not from the sixties like I am you need to do research.
LOL. Don't worry Patty. Its funny when someone leaves a criticism and can't get it right. I was pretty sure the car you were in was a Dodge Dart and son-of-a-gun if it wasn't, which was first produced in 1960 I believe. I didn't catch just when in the 60's this is set, but 8 tracks were fairly common by 1967/68.
Anon 2 I see what Anon 1 was saying. He meant you couldn't get an 8 track as original equipment on my car. And it wasn't. It was installed under the dash and had wires running everywhere and sometimes it fell off the mounting. Sure was fun though.
