but I think this one is exceptional. It's vivid, yet restrained, and slightly elegiac or maybe resigned. Just really, really good.

This is an amazing poem and it hit me just right, though that's not why I love it so much. It's the perfect post-it note plea bargain. The phrasing is genius and the wording is both spiky and wheedling. It was mentioned in today's poetry reviews if you want to come by. Thanks so much for sharing!
