geography

It takes close to three days to travel between Adelaide and Perth, and close to a day to travel from Melbourne to Perth. I don't quite see how this fellow could travel from Melbourne to Perth in three days. I have racking my brain to think of a spot where a backyard can have access to the beach and grass to the sand.

I'll comment later in the story on the story perhaps.

Correct geography?

@fritsau - you say ".. close to a day to travel from Melbourne to Perth. "

Now, according to Wikipedia, "Perth 2721 km (1,691 mi) from Melbourne"

OK, to do that in 'a day' would take 24 hours driving non-stop @ an AVERAGE of 70.46 miles per hour.

If you take any stops, for instance to fill your fuel tank, to take a leak, to have a coffee, whatever, then your AVERAGE will climb to near, or beyond, 100mph.

What do you drive?

And what is the speed limit in Oz?

Yikes

This may have been an incredibly hot story but I couldn't get past the changing in point of view from third person to first person and back again. Actually, some basic editing throughout is warranted.

hahahaha

I live in Perth, Western Australia....(opposite coast from Melb) the speed limit here in Oz is 110kph until you hit the WA border just west of Adelaide, then its 100kph the rest of the way to Perth. (convert to mph yasself, i'm too lazy)

Most who drive it take 4 days... if you do it in 3 you'll have to sleep for another 3 days if you survive it... after all, the kangaroos are HUGE and love to come out and race cars at night. kinda hard to avoid em, and their droppings leave the road slippery as snot. Perth has had a water shortage for a few years now so most lawns are brown.... and not much of anything grows that close to the beach except pigface and Casuarina trees (the black cockatoos feed on the nuts). WA has the best beaches in the world, and girls like his next door neighbor are everywhere... after all, yanno Elle and Orlando Blooms missus are from here.... i'd bloody better shutup or we're gunnabe overrun by yanks lookin for paradise.... cya

Who cares......

Who cares how far it actually is? Who cares what the speed limit is ? Who cares? It's not like the author is writing a great work of written art. The author is writing a fuck story. As for the story, way to fast. He arrives, goes to sleep wakes up, and fucks his new neighbor, whom he has never met. As for the speed limit I would bet the people of the World, also speed.
