I generally write masochistic characters and they usually don't start out submissive, because I love non-consent. I'm at the primal end of the kink spectrum. I don't have a vast amount of patience for D/s dynamics involving a lot of props & protocol. They become an elaborate game of 'Simon 'Says' that simply leaves me cold. What I really crave is for my character to be at the mercy of unpredictable caprice, with no concept of fairness or quid-pro-quo. If action A always results in consequence B, it hands control back to my character. She has that choice and she knows what will happen next. What I crave is for my character to be at the mercy of your sadistic whim, never knowing what the 'right' response may be or how far you'll go. Don't expect wide eyed, docile slavery, just some poor bitch who gets backhanded across the room when your character's had a bad day. My characters won't serve you out of devotion, they will do it because they're petrified. Any romance must be driven by the pain and the fear. Full blown Stockholm syndrome to infatuation and I do love an amoral psycho/sociopath.
