In my twenties, things settled in my life, and I realized there were particular things I wanted to accomplish before I died—the scariest and potentially humiliating (fingers crossed) of those was finding and joining the kink community. So, I found info for a local munch and put it in my calendar. Three months later, I conned a co-worker to go with me, and I dove into the wild world of sex, fetish, power play, humiliation, BDSM, and more.
After a year of playing, exploring, and building friendships, a good friend told me she was looking for phone sex operators to join her business. The chance to do sex work in a woman-owned business was too good to pass up!
I built characters and kept meticulous records. I role-played with her for hours, read erotica, watched porn, and read books on psychological analysis of sexual fantasies. I took improv, said yes to the moment, and enjoyed doing it.
Once I finished my undergraduate degree, I was accepted into the Master of Counseling Psychology, where I continued to write, study, and keep my student loan payments in deferment. While in graduate school, I further explored the psychology behind desire and sexuality.
And now, seven years later, I sit typing at my desk, gazing at the following I've amassed: the book covers and the receipts for sales on my left and eyeing those soft Egyptian cotton sheets to my right.
