Born in Louisiana, I went to school in Baton Rouge and New York. For three decades I taught in universities here in the states and overseas in Asia. An auto accident took one of my legs, forcing me to cut back both travel and work.
I live on a small ranch outside New Orleans with two ole dogs, four grouchy donkeys and houseful of books. There's always a free chair right in front of the chessboard.
