I've been reading stories on Lit for roughly two decades. I've seen both the glory and underbelly of the erotic writer’s craft (mixed metaphor gleefully acknowledged).

Since I’m hopeless at creating any kind of a plot, I'm content to contribute by making good writing on Lit better as an editor.

It’s important for you to know that I’m a malcontent; I don’t abide badly crafted prose all that well. It’s a good quality for an editor. Although I'm a credible editor generally (fact checking, copy, line, substantive), I specialize in finish editing, a term that I believe I've invented; a check on Google returns no hits on the term as such as of mid 2021.

Just as a finish carpenter puts the finishing touches on a house, a finish editor puts the finishing touches on a story. A finish edit is the last edit a largely completed work undergoes. Finish editing is the literary equivalent of polishing a diamond or finishing a room. It's not proofreading, which I'm not all that talented at. Finishing makes a solid story shine (would you cringe if I said 'polishes it to a high luster?') but won't have nearly the same impact on a story that’s flawed. I’ll certainly copy edit or perhaps even proofread your stories (let the buyer beware) but will relish finish editing them.

For those of you who suspect that HighLuster is a play on words, you are indeed correct. It's a double entendre alluding to my penchant for polishing stories and to my two principal predilections--highness (cannabis is legal in my home state) and lustfulness.

My value-add, more than anything else, will be better quality-of-expression; how well what needs to be said is said.
