I've read many stories here, and I've published one here ("Tuck Me In," you can find it on my Member Page of course). I invite you to glance at the comments on that story. As I read people's stories, I have noticed that sometimes my reading gets derailed. For example, words may be misspelled ("hte" vs "the," or "Hay!" vs "Hey!"). Words may be missing from a sentence. Verbs may confuse the reader ("who said that?" or "who's doing that?"). And so forth. Sometimes that can distract me from the story ("wait -- what?"). If it happens frequently enough, I may get so distracted that I lose the flow of a story. Rather than whine, I would like to offer to help with these kinds of difficulties. I think this is called "copy editing" and perhaps "line editing." It would mostly consist of suggestions for sentences, not for passages and certainly not for stories themselves. (If you want suggestions about those kinds of things, well, let's talk. No promises.) The categories I've named, below, are the categories I am most likely to read myself. After all, we're not doing this for money, are we? We're doing it because we enjoy it. Why not enjoy reading something that I might make better?
