jd! I LOVE this. I was there on the Mall that day... and for a few days after- the window pane was excellent, especially when you didn't know it was a 4 way and ate the whole thing! Whew!! And you're right... where did it all go? Thanks for sharing!

Enjoyed the whole piece (peace) and the echo of "no passion". Thanks :)

this is great reading

it is so sharp in so many spots / love the opening line, and 'Nixon wasn't home' / the 'no passion' echo is very effective /

I was born

to late for all this..but I've always felt like I should have been there.

I remember shadowy headlines and my older cousins talking about Kent State and Nixon...

One of the few headlines I remember clearly was Jim Morrison dying...had no idea who he was.

Thanks for giving me a nother look at an era what fascinates me.

Excellent form, restrained and yet rich with images.

Great work

Long ago again.

In the course of human events this poem is very evocative in its content. True and good leaders ~ they're hard to find.
