To know love is great
Being in love is better
To lose love cuts deep

*****

Trees fall silently
When no one is there to hear
But they are still there.

*****

Sometimes life is calm
Sometimes like a raging sea
Coping defines you

*****

A child smiles at you
Do they think you are funny
Or just like to smile

*****

Stories just tell tales
Poetry touches the soul
Which has more purpose

*****

Flags lie discarded
Fourteen billion dollars spent
Children still starving

*****

Frost will soon be here
Cold to nose and little toes
Wrap up winter nears

*****

Your touch is boldness
My father and my lover
Hidden from mother

So many times, when out in the backyard, with a winter's sun beating down and warming me through my thick jumper, I wonder how to articulate such things, you have just shown me.

XXXXX

You dear lady are a blessing.
