Turmoil and strife
Ripples spread outward
Droplets fall in straight lines
The lilies dip from the weight of a world unkind

Forty years of struggle
Blood still runs red and true
Thought love was maroon but it’s really a deep blue

Most infinite and divine
A sky thunderous in rage
The foundation quakes and roils
The day is tired and poorly aged

A spider’s cocoon has no butterflies
Morning dew is a dark night’s cry
Truth reveals such exotic lies

A moral for the lilies
Ripples go out but never come back
Dewdrops makes a lonely sound
Not even time washes away profound regrets
