Sometimes I wonder if I'm pretty

If that's why I'm loved

Does the the sailor love the sirens song?

Or the lyrics she sang it to

I'm not sure

Is pretty a good thing?

Would they take my fins and toss me back to sea like a shark?

Must it be so hard for a fish to know what parts others want to keep?

So unfair I don't get to choose what determines my value.

I loved reading this, and yet it broke my heart. Thank you for putting into words what so many of us struggle with everyday. Bravo!
