We paint a picture with sound
Vermilion to crimson
When the silence comes
It is obscene

Something creeps out
Flower on the battleground
Long after the crows are gone

Golden green suits you
Brings out the hazel in your eyes
Still a brush stroke of red
Under your chin
But your hands are scrubbed clean

Once
Life was cheaper than love
How things come around

Our memories will crumble to dust
And we'll bury the bruises
Deep underground

In some ways it reminds me of a couple with gloves off and then agreeing on a truce...So, what's for peace, forgetting or forgiving?
