Excellent piece; my only question is how this woman you describe in such detail can be considered more beautiful than her children. She sounds so shallow and filled with bitterness.

I especially liked the last 3 lines:
not some suv driving Georgia O'Keeffe
but a bitter mother more beautiful than
her children.
Spike this is tremendous. Such a great description of this woman, by showing her actions, her responses, her attire. I want to meet this woman once. Sand-- this poem deserves a title that reflects its complexity.
