I know. I know you know
what you've done to survive.
I know your days are bitter herbs
and poison.
I know that you are lost now
in the wind.
Listen: there are words to say
that can change us.
Will you say them? Will you recognize them?
Will you accept them?
Adrift lad,
I, too, have wronged in this one life.
Look up at the prodigal son in the parables.
Even the bastards get to come home again.
Come then, come home again and open up to me.
Say, I want you, and I will let you in.

Forgiveness.

Vulnerability.

Love.

Ah! To be human!
