with easy slowness.
I feel your gradual trust
bloom,
my own tendriling out.
We learn with childlike affection
that each is safe for the other.
Fondness moves between us
bridging into tender vulnerability.
I think I will be your friend
a long time.
Shyly, we turn our pages
for each other,
our bindings stiff and tight.
We are careful with each other.
I don't read you quickly.
The writing in your margins
must be puzzled out.
I trace my fingers
carefully over the letters,
and you read mine
with brow furrowed
with concentration.
So serious
a soul.
So sweet.
You place some of my words in your journal.
I read them,
and feel union.
You understand me,
and my binding softens,
into buttery kidskin.
I am greatful for you
in my life.

You read first the verse;
most difficult of all,
you read each other, and discover
as your words flow,
you are each other.
it's all in the connectivity and bringing it all together. great job!!!! don
Conveys a mutual bond in a gentle and sweet manner. "Connection" really connects on many levels.
The sentiment is expressed in a tender way. I leave this page with a smile and a good feeling. Thanks
This is a wonderful poem, Willow; your trademark clarity and honesty. Enjoyed it very much.
[sp: grateful]
portrait of sharing and trust , how it grows and how simple things mean so much.
There is something childlike here, it is pure and honest and very moving, to me at least.
It is puppy love that balances on the edge of true understanding.
A moment, in my opinion, that hasn't been captured often enough.
This does that moment proud.
Thank you
