All Comments on 'Conquering the Empress'

A bit long but still paints a compelling portrait.

The poem is enticing with the dramatic narrative and emotions ( I wish some 'regular stories' were as good as this one...).I assume that there is a painting(s) which inpire(s) this poem...if I am not wrong with my assumption then almost as in the case of illustrated poetry, it might have helped if a specific reference came with the poem. I tried but failed to find a painting which could fit the description in the poem. The poem stand on its own, but if it is having a dialogue with a particular painting - a quick reference might have helped.

You paint an excellent portrait of what I believe is a dom/sub relationship. Your diction is excellent throughout and your visuals and metaphors are fresh and sharp. This was a superior write and a pleasure to read such fine work!
