‘Stick around and stay a while’
The instructor says and paces
You stay waiting for a smile
Minutes pass with no trace
Not a hint of a change of face
‘Only the strong make it’
He says and leaves your space
You watch, frozen, where you sit

‘Faster now, you piece of bile’
He shouts and makes you brace
You stare, perhaps to reconcile?
Blood spills and still he chases
All you do is try and make haste
‘Only the weak will quit’
He whispers ‘You are a disgrace’
You watch, frozen, where you sit

‘On my count! You worthless pile…!”
He screams and lets his words lace,
Your thoughts; ‘throw them to exile’
The blood and tears now embraced
All you need is to make a change of pace
‘The strong are those who believe it’
He looks away, perhaps to a better place
You watch, frozen, where you sit

‘Here it is, your own showplace
This is your time, just take my hand
To end it here would be such a waste’
You watch, frozen, where you stand
