Something about the rasp in his voice
when he answers the phone-
I have to stifle the sigh before it slips out.
I sink into my pillows like I want to sink into him;
Like waves crashing against the rocks,
my fingers tease and taunt and trail down my skin.
His voice is so close even while he’s far away and
I can’t take the distance, the need,
the absolute craving that builds inside me.
The heat rises higher and higher with every word
but it’s nothing compared to his touch.
I close my eyes and see him above me
his eyes dark and longing and commanding
and suddenly I’m falling over the edge into
Something
Something without words
just our voices echoing from miles away
until there’s nothing but soft breaths I wish I could feel on my skin.
