Closing her eyes and seeing his face
A moment in time that none could never replace
The dripping essence of love overflowing her heart
The taste of passion that lies upon her tongue never to depart
Echoes of his voice still fresh within her mind
Rippled through her heart that with his entwined
Smiling she touches him once again in her mind
Never minding the tears flowing that have left her eyes blind
A prisoner of love trapped within the cage of his heart
Over the ocean he sails with promise to return
Leaving his beloved while two hearts on fire there burned
He pointed the bow of the mighty ship tossed
Waves crashing against her side overflowing on top
Gale force winds made it impossible to regain control
Unseen rocks in the storm had then pierced hull
He cried out to his love that he knew he'd never again see
As the ship fell apart giving away under his feet
The news it traveled back to Dublin to her
Her now being alone was to much now to bear
Gripping a rose she held to her breast
Mourning her love she stood on the cliff
Smiling she touches him again in her mind
Tears flowing more freely now her heart still entwined
Calling to him now saying will never be alone
Knowing he's waiting she lets herself go
The wind blowing through her hair she now must flee
To be with her beloved now they both rest in the sea
She's down there now with him against him reclined
Laughing beside him their hearts forever entwined
