A lovely little work! At times it hits a quite poetic level, and the many references were interesting. At the same time some of them were a bit obscure: many of the actresses I had to look up, especially when it came to the long list at the end, and Woolmer or Makart are not exactly among the most famous 19 c. painters. On the other hand I guess a poem is supposed to be a more personal kind of work. I am curious if you have read Hesse's *Steppenwolf*, the scene where he gets to experience every woman he has been attracted to? This was a bit reminiscent of that to me
Thank you for your review. Your attention flatters me. Yes, I know the actresses and painters are a bit obscure, still they hold attraction for me. Personally I regard this prose poem as something of a failure, I wanted to accomplish something more ornamental. I have leafed through Steppenwolf at some point, but I have no strong memories of it.
