I want to climb you like a tree;
Not like a mountain, with an eye
To conquest, but like a tree, for
The pure joy associated
With the climbing. I want to don
Pith helmet, and explore the great
Unknown land that is your body
(Tantalizingly suggested
By outlines on your clothing, like
Wildlife preserve hidden behind
A fence, but still clearly present)
Learning every detail, mapping
Every hill and valley, using
All my senses... To see you, to
Smell you, to feel you against my
Fingertips, palms, lips, against my
Own body, to taste you, and to
Hear the sounds of you. I want to
Feel your arms fold tightly around
Me, giving me the illusion
Of safety. I want to share a
Passionate kiss, long and deep, and
Lose not myself, but my fears
And my defenses, if only
For a few minutes. And - gods help
Me - I want you to want these things.
