a peek inside

I loved this so very much! It gives such a great peek inside to a male perspective. Thankyou!

Lucky bastard

I was always Gene Hackman, Rod Stieger, grew up to find Jim Carrey, replacing him with Claude Rains.

I too scream.

A bit overstated, still quite enjoyable.

Great!

I wasn't who I thought I was ...

I look in the mirror and scream! <--sometimes, that can be a scary thing :)

This was excellent. I wouldn't want to change a thing. I would consider this free verse with the throw in of rhymes, and I really like that. Great job!

I could feel your changes..

Your growth from little boy to man. Thank you for the sharing of your stages. Imagination is a wonderful natural progression of life.

Thank you for being vulnerable enough to show me, you.

And ahh..

we are never who we thought we were... we are usually better or learning to be ;)

I really liked this stanza:

"I was Earnest

one pen-ship night

Socrates on his

mental flights"

As long as we are ...

... working toward who we wish to become, it's all good. A very thought-provoking work, Art. Thank you! ~Imp

Thought provoking.

Truthfully chronicles our evolution through our lifelong goals and physical changes. It's amazing how life just passes us by, as is evident when seeing oneself in the mirror. Nicely put!

Reflection

I think everyone realizes at some point that they are not who they thought they'd be. Art, your words are not only thought-provoking, but cause emotion in the reader to rise and promote self relection. As long as we strive to be our best, that is the person we are meant to be. As always, your work is creative, introspective, and timeless. Thank you for sharing your soul with those who are privileged to read your work.

And then you look in the mirror and scream;

for it's just hit you ~ you are the meaning of life.
