If love were money I'd be dirt poor.
I'd be on the street with a tin pan.

If love were money I'd be too poor
To afford anything in any store.

If love were money I could pay no bills.
I would live with no frills
And live with the chills.

If love were money I'd be of the poorest around.
I'd have nothing to sleep on but the ground.
