An eye for an eye
We gouge them and sigh
An eye for an eye
The whole world going blind.
More children are dying
Their grandmothers crying,
Guns and tanks and fighter planes
Sticks and stones and suicide bombs.
Hostages for prisoners
Tic for tac, knick for knack
Where Jesus walked
It was all just talk.
The toothless grin of victory
A week-long truce of misery.
War after war, no peace in our time
Death and destruction
No reason, no rhyme.
An eye for an eye
We gouge them and sigh
An eye for an eye
The whole world going blind.

This rings true in our world & it makes me sad. I do like this though.
