I whisper sweetly in her ear,
recalling the slim volume of Sappho
hidden in the corner of the prison library.
The hunger in her eyes
leaves little time for poetry
or love for that matter
her passionate pawing
begs to me "actions not words,
foolish girl."
My quivering lips meet hers
only briefly, then descend
exploring all of her,
with careful, passionate devotion.
She takes her turn,
vigorous and intense,
achieving her purpose.
We continue our hidden dance,
night after captive night.
Me, slow and devoted,
imagining us free and alone.
Her, animalistic and frenzied,
thinking of her husband.
A simple yet powerful poem. very easy to understand the thoughts of two souls locked up, almost bound together.
I really liked this. I liked the ending line, I think it adds a level of yearning sorrow to the otherwise lustful actions here. It reads really well. I liked the "actions, not words, foolish girl". Very good snippet of insight into this character, good tension building, it's just right. I liked this poem, very nice :)
