We stand silent along the paths
mute witnesses to what was
and so softly wish for the could-have-beens
for each became a never-were
and our dreams(?) - just more star"dust".

It makes me imagine a couple

beyond a parting of ways

separated asunder

like a zipper opened

hands entangled once

waving a final goodbye

heads bowed down

trying to escape the spiral

and find another half a jacket

to couple with against the stormy loneliness

...or at least

a friendly hook to hold on to

and be on hold

Love it

Loved this! "mute witnesses to what was" Oh my heart knows that feeling.

Beautiful work.
