Passion's kiss, newly pledged.
Red-hot, fever-pitch,
Lost in time, both bewitched.
Cooling embers, colder ash,
Pained words, tempers clash.
Steel-blue, souls maimed,
Love lost, end-game.

the essence of love caught in a minimum of words but with a maximum of similes.
Smiles at max, I read again, and again to feel its colorful comparison, see the well tempered melancholy and taste the smoothness and sting of the words.
Sorry for all those words, 'well done' just wasn't enough.
