Lovers In Arms

She's leaving, one foot out the door
Her soul is torn between the two
Is having one and not the other destructive
Hard to ignore
For him, misconstrue
Beyond mere logic and deductive,
A battle raging in his soul, to call upon her lies
Her crass manipulations
Her leaving, not his goal
By livid loud consternations
 But questions,
 Questions, and answers notforthcoming..
Transparent as dirt, and half as tasty,
His question, still important and not so hasty...
Will their love die on the vine,
Or burst into flame,
The heat invalidating her promise of no promiscuity, at least with him
Not polite, not tame
But ardent and anxiously awaiting.
Awaiting.
Awaiting his rescue from lovers obscurity.. To what?
Does love conquer all?
Or trade strength with suspicion,
Groundless or not
And die by attrition...
So ... She was leaving out the door, or maybe stay a while for more,
He was deciding on her fate
To forgive and love again...
And love her only as his mate.
