I could never think you were mean. Five stars.

I think I understand what this is all about. I know that one must forgive oneself to be able to move on in life to find one's happiness. We are often so quick to be hard on ourselves, so quick to condemn. Why are we any worse than anyone else? Do we not deserve to also be happy? Of course we do... we are just human and flawed. I think the sooner we can accept ourselves, as that person in the mirror, flaws and strengths, we can move to a place where we ponder each day in those quiet moments that do happen all the time, how we are good people... and ok. No need to tar-and-feather ourselves each day. Instead, look at the beauty we each possess and can share with the world around us. That might help the person in the mirror become someone whole and not just a piece of ourselves to disdain. Excellent poem Brittni! Very eloquent and intense for sure!

It breaks my heart to read this as I know it’s truth almost as much as you do. You deserve the world, beautiful girl and I know someday you will have it. I love you, always.
