Get up! Get up! I heard them say.
No, no, I replied. Not today.

Get up! Get up! I heard them cry.
I have no energy to open my eye.

Get up! Get up! That’s what they said.
Sorry no, I can’t get out of bed.

Get up! Get up! We need you now.
Maybe tomorrow I said with a vow.

Get up! Get up! It’s time to live life.
But how can I possibly, with so much strife?

Get up! Get up! They scream and shout.
Instead I roll over and continue to pout.

Get up! Get up! You’ve slept the whole day.
Leave me alone and go away.

The room is silent. They have all gone.
The seconds tick slowly, moving towards dawn.

Alone in my room, a tear in my eyes.
Go back to sleep, and try try not to cry.
