I like this poem, but I think it would have been stronger if you had stuck to just one style of poetry. Keep writing and sharing your work with us.
like trees, memories remain sometimes only as stumps, but stumps are good things, they give us a place to sit and remember...in my opinion, the style is not important when feelings are stirred in me the way this one did...thought it was wonderful, keep writing!! Im sure you have more beauty within and who knows how much inspiration that old stump will provide..you are its conduit now, spread some poetic shade over our lives ;) maria
...lined the front of the house I grew up in. 200 yrs old or more when we moved in. Then the Light and Power people came along. We cried, the whole family, while they cut. I loved this poem and it is one of only 12 I have printed out... Thank you!
