Birdsong heard in the morning light,
Dawn’s gold hues, what a lovely sight,
Crystal dewdrops and a gentle mist,
As I wake to my true love’s kiss.

It’s a piece of heaven,
More than gold in worth,
It’s a piece of heaven
That I hold here on earth.

Laughter’s echo in the summer rain,
Tracing wiggles on the windowpane,
Pastel hues on a field of blue,
Your hand in mine, and my dreams come true.

It’s a piece of heaven,
More than gold in worth,
It’s a piece of heaven
That I hold here on earth.

I’ll never want for riches,
For I have the treasured prize,
The eternity of tomorrow
That I see in your eyes.

Gentle fingers on a curved cheek,
Words of love, yet we do not speak,
Midnight chimes and we close the door,
One last kiss, then we start to soar.

It’s a piece of heaven,
More than gold in worth,
It’s a piece of heaven
That I hold here on earth.
