I wonder which one brings more pain,
The end of summer or the start of rain,
The loss of youth or the quiet tears
That signal only the passing years;
Remembered faces but forgotten names,
A heart grown cold or the burnt out flame
Of passion spent and broken dreams
In a heap of ashes and the endless stream
Of a melody that never fades,
Remnants of a love that overstayed
The warmth of arms and the heat of lips,
The pieces now lying, torn and ripped.
And which truth should I keep in memory….
Did I let you go….or did you leave me?
