The only thing darker than
the night
were the saucers of her eyes.
I lay there, frozen
in one spot;
tried to count blessings,
or so I thought.
None came. Why chosen?
Fragile and tiny I was,
like a music box
that had been played.
Now silence hits me now like a wave.

I’m sure she’s content, but
I see no peace.
Dreamhomes full of stuff,
but I’m not free
of this feeling like impending doom
everytime I’m alone in a room.
