Wow!
My 50th submission!
Yes, not that big of a milestone to anyone but myself, still, I'm just gonna sit here smiling, patting myself on my back thinking on how nervous I was writing my first story; how I never considered even looking at the poetry section; never imagined writing anything more after whatever work I had just finished; how I still fight apprehensive chills when I hit ‘send’ submitting something to wait on approval.
Acknowledgements: Thanks Literotica! I’m no fan of how you operate, at times, but I’m deeply appreciative of the basic purpose of your site.
I can’t thank enough anyone who’s taken precious time to read any of my work to then move on with their busy day. I indicate in my bio what I do for anyone who then finds it necessary to grace me with support, a follow, or kind words.
I have friendships that are loyal and longer than many here are aged and these friends have helped by lending their opinions and, at times, talents and voices to my works. They roll their eyes at me thanking them but it’s deserved.
Jo, to you, a very special thank you.
I had a poem already chosen to be my 50th submission when I noticed that another one I had already drafted was a theme I had touched on before in my very first poetry submission. So, I changed some things, deciding to rename the work and revisit “She’s A Brick” to celebrate and bookend this personal anniversary from where I
started (heading nowhere) to where I am now.
I promise that you will never see this long winded a post from me again unless I can make it to 100.
Thanks again to everyone reading this.
I love the dance of words, both of mundanity, and loving affection, and the forward-thinking toward a brighter future for the next generation.
