All Comments on 'Swallow'

to - two - too... I had fun reading this one and I don't like my medicine, either. That's why I ask for pills instead.☺

That rhetorical question asked by all parents; so for kids everywhere I'll answer, "Yes, it was!"

When I wrote this poem I was dealing with a painful end to a relationship. I felt I was and had been during the whole marriage and it's ending, asked to swallow every little bit of bull tossed my way. Not only swallow it but act like I had no problem with it. I felt I was going to choke to death on all the little bitter pills that were being shoved at me.

So one day I just had this image of all the crappy things he was doing being rammed down my throat and my ex acting like there was nothing wrong at all, telling me to smile, just keep smiling.
