The heart-shard superglue might have become old

but most of the shape restored, it seems to hold.

So what I can state

'broken' is not a fate,

and even though a few parts are missing

there's therapy from the one I keep kissing.

A beautiful and painful use of rhyme. One that I feel many can relate to. I was especially touched by the way you reached out to the reader, both asking for, and offering support. Bravo. I will be adding your work to the New Poems Recommendations Thread.

If you knew it would happen then why take the chance?

Does the pain at the end exceed the joy of dance?

If you love - your heart's given, it hasn't been stolen.

You've assumed all risk that it might come back to you broken.

The question is whether the breaks were malicious,

And was the choice to love sound, or was it somewhat capricious?

And try not to succumb to the siren like voice -

the quiet one inside you is a much better choice.

And if you then must project, or imagine the future,

think of one that is healed, not a fresh wound with sutures.

Hope, kindness, and patience, are always the key.

These are the things that I learned when it happened to me.

I want to make you laugh and cry by writing about what’s in people’s hearts as much as what happens between their legs: romance with a helping of loving sex. My stories are respectful of transgender people: real people with honest feelings. Thanks for stopping by.
