I’ll tell you a story of a victim made
By deeds undone– their ransoms paid
With treasures Divine (innocence lost)
When, all at once, a future it cost.

Therein such horrors, alone he woke
To begin a future where loneliness spoke
Of distant times. A hasty bold lass
Lamenting a future lost in his past.

So, daily he trod thickets of yore
Deep into tunnels loneliness bores
Throughout a heart sentenced to time,
Within a future created by crime.

After decades passed, a dove he caught
With eyes like jewels wrought
From ancient caves in mystic rhymes–
Stare he did into the eyes of Time.

In this reflection, alone he posed
To softly sniff a reddened rose
So cherished by him in innocent days
When prayers were answered in selfish ways.

Fragrance-transfixed (lo and behold)
Was the breath of one whose memory he told
To many a stranger, lover, pet or God
To mourn that future that time forgot.

The following second the lighting changed
To brighten walls of darkened caves
Dug long ago within the Sun
When one alone his Christ had won.

These walls were covered with roses band;
There sat one within a hand
Whose eyes met his within those depths
As time stood still while eternity wept.

Suddenly, a tear startled his hand
Flighting that dove to circle the land,
Lighting a warp in space and time
To the morning before that fragrant crime.

Therein, he focused through that Light,
As fortune erased his previous plight,
To witness his love with a rose and smile,
Calling some bird and weeping the while
