By a desert garden I walked.
By an innocent puddle I sat.
With mind, heart and honor lost,
I had only my soul to bet.

In this pool a reflection posed
(With aged features I'd never seen)
Hearts went high and odds went low
The moment I saw my dream!

My cards were cut a million ways;
Dealt from up above;
Blown softly down from angel's caves;
Carried by a dove.

My eyes I searched and ripples saw
When tears began to drop.
Halfway through, by Royal Law
My ante would not stop!

Grace be known a gambler's friend
When silence seems serene...
For, laughter heard 'round the bend

PROVES ONLY THE JOKER'S SCREAM!!
