We are born at crossroads
seeking inexplicable and unexpected ways
to hitch a ride to heaven
squinting in the morning majesty of the sun
we gravitate towards its warmth
trodden down worn paths
we call our own
peering into infinity
to read the stars and navigate
through tides of emotions
we stumble and crash
we step off the path
and linger
we pick up little passengers
that change our direction
we are aware
and lose our sense of self
forget our hardships
and transcend
and understand
that heaven is not a place
It’s an acceptance
It’s being
It’s within us
