A somber mellow resonance of bow on cello’s string
The softly sensuous melodies which sea-bound sirens sing.
The haunting hollow echoing of oboe’s reedy call
The mystic moods of music, my soul embraces all

A sweet soliloquy of sound, soprano’s aria soars
Piano’s pulsing rhapsodies, in captivating scores
Trumpets sound triumphantly, in thirds they ring on high
My lilting heart joins in the song, which calls for soul’s reply

The rousing rhythms stir that soul, raising it to life
The counter-melodies collide in loud harmonic strife
The cymbals clash together now in dissonant crescendo
Followed by the silence of complete diminuendo.

The heart and soul o'er come by it express in their delight
The rapture that they both do feel, o'er whelmed by sound and sight.
