at the risk of sounding brutal to new writers, I must ask you,

does any of this sound familiar? Something you may 1,000 times. The seventy-five is because I am generous. This is an extended cliche.

A suggestion....

write about something very specific, possibly from your own life, on the topic of "love lost." Then, you will avoid the vague generalities that are featured in this poem. Did someone leave you a hurtful phone message, a juvenile letter? Is another man or woman involved? How was it resolved? When you can answer these questions, you'll have some material for a more effective poem. I sense talent, you just need to be more individual instead of relying on the cliches. Good luck!

Keep Soaring!

Angel in disguise eh? That is sweet, Elvis got it wrong by saying the opposite effect. You just happen to be one of those little blessings that God gifted us with to cherish, your wings have yet to grow. Good riddance that your husband now rots in his own personal hell with all the other demons of his tortured exsistence, you on the other hand flew to freedom and safety, revel in its finesse! The Please read and dismiss negative comments! This is NOT cliche! The daily going ons of life are viewed as troublesome, but really everyone desires something they never know, its not cliche! Its called life! A cliche is a dumb blonde! A stereo typical character! PAIN IS NOT CLICHE! As for that other comment, can't you see that this is one's yearing for love, the appreciation of its splendor, as it flutters away as a butterfly, mockingly, silent as a corpse, to instead stir in the hearts' of others to bring them together, while ignoring our loner. *sniff* Do not mock the person who needs love in their life. Everyone does, if you are one who is blessed with the gift of an undisputed parade of fufilled wants, you do not understand the lonely, (as I and the other pretty sweet girl virgins are,) how the lonely peoples' love is unrequited and no this is NOT a generalized poem! It is a description of tragic love, (in free verse poem.)It tells us of a love that was not meant to be, of a person who only believes love has sought them out. Of course there will be not details! That is called a story! Then it would contain a less surreal, mysterious quality charm to behold it. A story would state the facts and details, all poems are generalized, this one isn't different from any of the rest! So this is not a generalized poem, but a beautiful poem with the proper structure used to build a poem! angel_in_disguise keep on soaring! And may you enlighten the hearts of many others! Heaven is beckoning, enter when your wings grow weary and your heartbeat stilled. Just keep on smiling in this flightless life, instead of flying... Thats what dreams are for! ;)
