Thinking of women
beneath my skin
those I’ve loved
might love again,
Those I have not
who knows someday
might take a leap
go all the way,

Life is a gamble
life is a risk
a leaking pail
a bucket list,
Sue and I watch
the morning sunrise
her breath in my ear
my hand on her thighs,

Spent the night
a small motel
off the route
antiseptic smell,
Traffic outside
curtains so thin
something so sweet
should not be a sin,

Now in the desert
dry and bare
run my hands
the length of her hair,
Down her back
not now in a braid
been ten hours
since we got laid,

Shuffle around
unsnap and unzip
holds my penis
a firm hard grip,
Spread her legs wide
climb on my shaft
air horn blasts
a truck speeds past,

Finish the journey
end of this road
kiss goodbye
slowly unload,
Watch while the Earth
circles the sun
life’s never over
until it is done,
