"Untying the Camel" is an epic-poem I came across some years ago in the uplands of Harbalistan. It is a tale with historic roots, based in the Tashli culture of Central Asia (an episode, in fact, from the sprawling Tashli poetic saga "Sarambai," which I have rendered into English).
The entire text of "Untying the Camel" is posted here.
Even just one episode is too long to publish as a single media file, so I will be uploading the audio reading in six installments. In this portion (part 1), a proud steppe princess named Kanikay becomes snared by the plots of the villainous Emir Nurbek.
Please be advised that the saga contains non-consensual sex.
