Sprinkle
And like your kiss, the summer ends,
A sweetly sung melody hanging in the air,
Clinging to the last rays of a watery sun.
A farewell seems apropos,
But reluctance wins out in the end….
So I'll wait for the downpour instead.

Mist
Beads of water gliding down the glass,
Trailing solitary paths over a damp pane,
Like tears they slide, relentless though gentle
To nurture some unforgotten sorrow.

Torrent
Dancing droplets dripping down,
Un-heedful of time, devoid of care.
Staccato passages of rhythm and rhyme,
A tango beyond compare!

Tears
A broken string of liquid crystals
Sliding down the curved cheek,
Shed in joy or borne in pain,
They shine with a di'mond's near perfection.

Deluge
But all too soon, these droplets die
In the ebb and flow of a mighty tide,
Swept away by thrashing waves,
And carried to an unknown grave;
They mingle with the salty tears
Of an ocean's wrath…..and our human fears.
A droplet's death, like the heart's, is cold,
….a fair exchange for a life lived bold.
