We could have missed them by minutes.
Did you know about that?
They could have been trying.
But we weren't there to chat.

I think we were too late to join them.
Too slow to ascend.
It's not really our fault.
It was luck after all.

It's a dead universe out there now.
We missed all the fun.
Their signals came here,
While we were still too young.

The party was had,
A million years ago.
I wish I'd been there.
I wish we could've gone.

The Roxor's last message.
It passed us right by.
Millenia before,
We could have said hi.

The FI Confederate,
Went before them.
Their stolen Targ star forges,
Slowly grew cold.

We're all that's left now.
In this dead universe.
Not a fresh song.
We're the very last verse.

It's sad to think.
Sadder to say.
We won't meet them.
In any real way.

We missed them by a lot.
Missed our friends up above.
And whoever comes after,
Won't get here soon enough.

Damn you! Driving poetry into my geeky heart. Loved it. I can’t count the numbers of times I’ve had these thoughts.
