Click hereSome leaves hold fast to the ground
hoping that the wind
won't push them around.
Some leaves never touch the earth
holding tightly to a tree
since the day of their birth
Some leaves hold fast to one another
a barren tree with just two leaves
on the ground clutters the others
Some leaves prefer to fly
spread out like a sail
and riding the winds high
Some leaves defy gravities call
rise to the heavens on a thermal
leaves that do not ever fall
By far and away, my favorite of your works. Reminds me of "The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost. Perhaps the imagery. But it is truly divine. Thank you!
Such powerful imagery; where were you when I needed this in High School English oh so many decades ago.
Your style never ceases to come out in your works of arts.
Thank you for provoking thoughts from your readers..
Nicely conveys the individuality of the leaves, and the different ways in which nature's elements exist and evolve.
This is nice Art.
It reminded me of walks and shooting photos, what goes through your mind as you're doing so.
Sometime take a camera with you on an outing, get real close to nature and look through the viewfinder, snap the photo. It's a new perspective, but will have you seeing everything differently.
are you saying they sail into space?
I liked the different ways the leaves are similar to man/woman kind, Basic and simple.
myself. it has an against all odds theory to it. if only against all odds wasn't so overused it could be supplanted as the title. so, it makes sense to keep this as it is. simply written with a complexity of why's.....nice work!!.....don
